POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Cook or Nutrition Services Manager, the Kitchen Helper coordinates meal services in the Day Health Center.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists cooks to prepare center meals and other foods as necessary to complete meals. Portions individual items as necessary and readies any special requests prior to service. Serves food to participants in the dining room and dishes and delivers food to the participants at home. Packages and ships meals and supplements to be delivered to participants at home.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates safe practices by utilizing proper body mechanics, adhering to universal precautions, and maintaining environmental safety.
• Follows all infection control and sanitation policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper food handling, storage, and service and cleaning.
• Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
• Interest, demonstrated ability and/or experience in working with the elderly, and an understanding of the nutritional needs and preferences of our participants.
• Minimum of one year related experience preferred.
• One-year experience working with the elderly or frail population required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Dependable, alert, flexible and creative.
• Bilingual English/ Spanish pref.

GSGLA Camp Lakota
The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Camp Lakota is a state of the art, recently updated residential camp. Located just 90 miles from downtown Los Angeles, this premier camp site will host a full summer camp season. The camp will focus on providing a stand-out girl-led experience for campers of all ages and communities across our 6, 272 square mile footprint. Qualifications (Minimum Education and Experience)
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain Kern County approved ServSafe Certificate prior to first day of work.
• Demonstrated experience with food prep and general kitchen experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR prior to first day of work.
• Ability to pass a background check.

• Must be committed to work the entire camp season and attend all pre-camp trainings.

The nonprofit San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living serves a significant number of patients and long-term care/skilled-nursing residents each year in its Jewish Home & Rehab Center. Non-residential care is offered through our short-term and rehabilitation services unit for patients who require specialized interdisciplinary rehabilitation to recover from surgery or an acute illness, and... through our acute geriatric psychiatry hospital. With a complement of close to 650 compassionate, experienced clinical and allied health personnel, SFCJL provides older adults with a variety of life-enriching healthcare programs and services in a welcoming, stimulating environment.

Position Overview
The Café/Catering Assistant will assist with catered events and Café food prep in the main kitchen. This position will also cover breaks for the Café as needed.
Essential Job Functions
• Café duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Preparing grab and go food and beverages for the day
• Covering breaks/lunches for café staff
• Making espresso drinks
• Taking orders at the counter
• Cashiering as needed
• Clean up of workstation and café seating area
• Restocking supplies
• Close out cash drawer and prepare deposit when needed
• Cover Gift Shop sales as needed
• Catering duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Prep of daily catering needs
• Delivery and pick-up of catered meals
• Maintaining of catering supplies
• Assist with staffing of catered events as needed
Requirements
• Ability and desire to work as a team and cooperatively with a wide variety of personalities.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to push, pull, and lift items up to 30 lbs.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Awareness of food handling and sanitation guidelines
• Dependable, self-motivated, and ability to work under some pressure
• Good communication and organizational skills
